Ecologically Sensitive Bushfire Asset Protection Zone Establishment and Maintenance

Asset Protection Zones (APZ’s) are implemented on bushfire prone land to isolate and protect buildings and occupants from the passage of fire. This is achieved by creating buffers around the assets to reduce the likelihood of flame transfer by minimising the amount of combustible material available to burn.

Ecohort can undertake bushfire Asset Protection Zone (APZ) establishment and maintenance works in bushland areas using ecologically sensitive vegetation control methods, such as elimination of noxious and environmental weeds, pruning, thinning, or removal of plants, trees and shrubs, particularly the more flammable species. We can also establish APZ’s using subcontractors with specialised mechanical equipment such as skid steers, excavators, and dozer mounted tritters and flail mowers.
